Frequently Asked Questions:

When can I resume normal activities?

It is often possible to return to work within a week or so, depending on your job. It is important to avoid straining, bending and lifting for the first few weeks, since these activities may cause increased swelling or even bleeding.

You may resume light exercise after a few weeks. Sexual activity should be avoided for a minimum of one – two weeks following surgery. Care must be taken to be extremely gentle with your breasts for at least the next several weeks.

Will I have sensation in my nipples after surgery?

You may notice less sensation in the nipple and areola area. This is  usually temporary. It may take weeks, months or even more than a year before sensation returns to normal.

How long will it take for my breasts to resume normal shape?

It may take several months for your breasts to assume a more natural shape. The incision sites will initially be pink or red and may remain this way for many months following surgery. The incision lines will be permanently visible.

How long will the results last?

Your new breast shape should remain fairly constant providing you do not gain or lose a significant amount of weight or get pregnant. However, the effects of aging and gravity may eventually alter the size and shape of your breasts.
