Initial Consultation – What’s Involved?At your first visit you will be required to fill in a registration form, the details of which will be securely filed. You are encouraged to bring a friend or relative to the initial consultation. This third party will help you make an informed choice regarding your proposed surgery.You will then see Dr Cooper who will discuss the concerns you have about your breasts and the results you would like to achieve. You should be specific about what you would like to achieve. If your surgeon fully understands your expectations, he will be able to determine whether your goals are realistic. Dr Cooper will then explain the various options available to you, describe the outcomes he expects and advise you of any possible complications or side effects. During your consultation Dr Cooper will take a full medical history and conduct a physical examination. He will also take photographs. Breast measurements are taken using a calliper and a measuring tape. This will help to determine any asymmetry of the breasts and also help with implant sizing. Our registered nurse can be present during your physical examination if you choose.
